Certain situations will require you to manually set your DNS server on your computer or device to regain connectivity. Please follow the steps below.
Windows 10
Take note of any DNS addresses you might have set up, and save them in a safe place in case you need to use them later.
- Select the Start menu > Settings.
- On Network and Internet, select Change Adapter Options.
- Right-click on the Ethernet or Wi-Fi network you are connected to and select Properties.
- Choose Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Select Properties > Use the following DNS server addresses.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server.
- Select OK.
Note: This can be undone at any time by following the steps above and selecting Obtain DNS server address automatically in step 5.
