How does my service I currently have compare to your service?

The EAN is an Education-first internet service provider. This means that we provide access to our LTE network for education and personal use. The EAN is NOT meant for business use. 

The EAN provides 3 plans that all offer uncapped speeds and different monthly rates.* Depending on your current internet service provider, the EAN may provide different speeds, and reliability. You will need to inquire with your current provider for their network specifications for comparison purposes. All EAN accounts are provided unlimited data every month. The 3 plans we offer at the EAN are:

Community Plan -- $34.95/mo with speeds depending on the signal strength and quality, with an average of 25Mbps Download and up to 5Mbps Upload. This plan includes access to the Online Modules to further your education.

NMU Alumni & Active/Retired/Disabled Military Service Members -- $24.95/mo with an average of 25Mbps Download and up to 5Mbps Upload, unlimited data, and no filter! 

K-12 Dependent or Educational Partner Affiliate -- $19.95/mo with speeds depending on the signal strength and quality with an average of 25Mbps Download and up to 5Mbps Upload. This package keeps your children secure on the web with the educational filter. You are able to browse the web and do your daily tasks, but keep in mind that with this plan there is an adult filter built-in.

When you create an account and place an order at www.nmu.edu/ean you will be issued an antenna that you use to connect to one of our towers. Based on your line-of-sight to this tower, we will determine the most appropriate device for you to use, as well as any height recommendations you will need in order to get a clear signal from the tower, free of any interference from things like trees, buildings, and/or land. This will be the most critical factor in determining your network connection speeds.

 *If you are currently an NMU student, staff, or faculty member, you already have access to the network without a monthly service fee. In order to get your equipment, call 1(888)458-8668 to inquire about purchasing a student, staff, or faculty EAN device.

If you are a student from another school, you may qualify for our Affiliate plan starting at $19.95/month. When ordering your equipment and your service, just select the school you are a part of when signing on through our online signup process.
