When you order the Educational Access Network, we will need to locate your physical location where you will be utilizing the service to ensure proper communication about maintenance, updates, and outages. Some of our customers have their devices shipped to them, so these customers will need to send us their coordinates before we send out their LTE device. Use these instructions below to select the device you are using and how to map out your location:

Windows/Mac OS X
- Open your preferred web browser by clicking on the icon on your desktop or taskbar. Any of the following icons should work with getting online:
- Once the browser is opened, navigate to maps.google.com using the address bar on the top of your web browser, typing in the above address, and pressing ENTER on your keyboard.
- On the top left of the screen, you will see a search bar where you can enter your physical address. Input your address and click on the
button or press ENTER on your keyboard.
- This will drop a pin (
) on the estimated position of your home. From here, you will need to find your actual home on the map. Most people find it easier to see their home using the satellite view located on the bottom left of the screen. Left-clicking on the
satellite icon will show you an image of the area.
- Once you find your actual home on the screen, left-click on the house to drop a
on the location and provides you a geo-coordinates on the bottom of the screen.
- Send these coordinates to eansupport@nmu.edu so we can map out your location and get your device on its way!
Android/Google Maps App
- Open the Google Maps App located on your phone. The icon will look similar to the following:
- Once the app is open, use the search bar on the top of the screen to put in your physical location and tap on your address that shows in the options below the search bar.
- This will drop a pin (
) on the estimated position of your home. From here, you will need to find your actual home on the map. Most people find it easier to see their home using the satellite view located on the bottom left of the screen. Tapping on the
satellite icon will show you an image of the area.
- Once you find your actual home on the screen, long-press on the house to drop a pin (
) on the location and provides you a geo-coordinates in the search bar on the top of the screen.
- Send these coordinates to eansupport@nmu.edu so we can map out your location and get your device on its way!
iPhone
- Open your Safari web browser by tapping on the icon on your home screen.
- Once the browser is opened, navigate to maps.google.com using the address bar on the top of your web browser, typing in the above address, and press GO on your on-screen keyboard.
- On the top of the screen, you will see a search bar where you can enter your physical address. Input your address and click on the
button or press GO on your on-screen keyboard.
- This will drop a pin (
) on the estimated position of your home. From here, you will need to find your actual home on the map. Most people find it easier to see their home using the satellite view located on the bottom left of the screen. Tap on the
icon on the left of the search bar to open your views, then tap on Satellite.
- Once you find your actual home on the screen, long press on the location to drop a pin (
) on your home. Then you will need to send us a screenshot of your screen. Depending on your iPhone you will have to do this a specific way:
- iPhone 8 or earlier:
- Press and hold the Top or Side button.
- Immediately click the Home button, then release the Top or Side buttons.
- A thumbnail of your screenshot appears in the lower-left corner of your device. Press and hold the thumbnail to share the screenshot via email. Send it to eansupport@nmu.edu.
- iPhone X or later
- Press and hold the Side button on the right side of your iPhone.
- Immediately click the Volume up button on the left side, then release the buttons.
- A thumbnail of your screenshot appears in the lower-left corner of your device. Press and hold the thumbnail to share the screenshot via email. Send it to eansupport@nmu.edu.
