What kind of equipment do I need and how much does it cost?

The Educational Access Network has several units that are available for rental or purchase. In our online ordering portal you will have four different equipment options, and each cost a different amount. Below is an outline of each piece of equipment offered and the cost that comes with each type.

Portable LTE Hotspot:

• The Portable LTE Hotspot is a battery powered device that provide WiFi and a USB connection to up to 5 devices in about a 30 foot radius.
• The cost to purchase this device is $165.00 plus sales tax. 
• The cost to rent this device is $5.00/month plus sales tax.
• NOTE: If you choose to lease your equipment, you will be charged for a full 12 months ($63.60) at the time of your order. After one year, we will contact you to renew the lease, at which time you will have the option to continue on the yearly plan, or utilize our monthly lease option. 

Indoor LTE CPE Router:

• The AC powered device provides WiFi and Ethernet connections to up to 10 devices within a home.
• The cost to purchase this device is $185.00 plus sales tax. 
• The cost to rent this device is $5.00/month plus sales tax.
• NOTE: If you choose to lease your equipment, you will be charged for a full 12 months ($63.60) at the time of your order. After one year, we will contact you to renew the lease, at which time you will have the option to continue on the yearly plan, or utilize our monthly lease option. 

Outdoor LTE CPE:

• The outdoor devices DO NOT provide WiFi. A separate WiFi Router must be used to provide the Internet access to more than one computer connected via the Ethernet connection.
• Indoor/Outdoor devices typically have a single POE (Power over Ethernet) cable running into the home attached to an AC adapter to provide power to the device. The AC adapter has a second Ethernet connection to provide Internet access to a computer or WiFi Router.
• NOTE: If you choose to purchase or lease this device, you will need to purchase your own wireless router. At this time, we do not sell any other wireless routers
• WiFi Routers can be purchased at Walmart, Meijer, Target, and other local retailers, as well as on Amazon. We do recommend Best Buy for the purchase of your WiFi router, as the employees there know which type of routers work best with our system, and will be able to guide you in the right direction. 
• The cost to purchase this device is $250.00 plus sales tax. 
• The cost to rent this device is $5.00/month plus sales tax.
