Retiring Units
We are currently undergoing maintenance that requires the retirement of specific models of our LTE equipment. If you currently use one of the models below, please get in touch with our support team at eansupport@nmu.edu or (906) 227-2957 as soon as possible to avoid any gaps in your service.
Retired units include:

FAQ's
- Why do I need to replace my equipment?
- NMU will be making changes to our transmission sites that require an upgrade in your LTE device to maintain compatibility. This work is required as part of the FCC’s Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program.
- Is this going to cost anything?
- There will be no up-front costs for swapping your retiring equipment. We do reserve the right to charge for any unreturned retiring equipment.
- Do I need to return my old equipment?
- Yes, to issue new equipment free-of-charge, your current equipment must be returned to the EAN. If the equipment is not returned, we reserve the right to charge the full cost of the new equipment, up to $265.00.
- What if I cannot swap my equipment in person?
- We have shipping options. Please contact our support team for further details.
- What if I need help swapping my equipment?
- We may be able to help! Please contact our support team for further details on our installation assistance
- Will installation assistance cost anything?
- No, we will provide complimentary installation assistance as a one-time offer
- When will the installer reach out?
- Our installer should be in touch within a couple of weeks of your initial installation assistance request. If you do not hear from them, please follow up with our support team.
- Do I need to make an appointment to swap my equipment in person?
- No appointment is necessary. You can come anytime during our normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday during the academic year, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during summer hours. Swapping equipment can take up to 20 minutes. Please allow for this amount of time when you come, and be mindful of this time requirement towards the end of business hours.
- What do I do if my new equipment does not work?
- Please contact our support team for troubleshooting assistance in getting your new LTE device connected and operational.
